Corrosion Resistant Zinc-Coated Steel Conductor
Earthline™ is a zinc-coated steel conductor manufactured by The Platt Brothers & Company for grounding grid applications. Earthline™ has a steel core size of 5/8″ with a zinc coating of 0.187 ” thick for all standard electrical grounding requirements.
One of the primary concerns in terms of designing a grounding system for a pipeline facility or gas compressor plant is selecting a material that is resistant to corrosion and does not interfere with the existing Cathodic protection system of the plant underground piping system. Zinc is an active metal which can be maintained at a satisfactory electrochemical potential that can reasonably be protected by the cathodic protection system of the facility.
